
Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, the General Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition and the Principal Resident Teacher at Manjushri KMC, will grant the empowerment and give the teachings at the Festival. Gen-la is loved and respected throughout the world for the sincerity of her practice and the power of her wisdom and compassion. She has been a student of Geshe Kelsang for thirty years, during which time she has inspired thousands of people around the world through her sincere reliance on her Spiritual Guide, taking his teachings to heart and putting them into practice in every aspect of her life. Before her appointment as General Spiritual Director she was the National Spiritual Director of the United States. She is a very powerful Teacher able to make Buddha’s teachings easily accessible and to show through her example how to integrate these teachings into our daily life.
Gen Kelsang Jampa, the National Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition in the US and the Resident Teacher of KMC Texas, will guide the retreat at the Festival. He has been a disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for many years. Gen Jampa is well-loved for his warmth, kindness, and inspiring and clear teachings. By his example, he shows us how to practically and joyfully integrate Buddha’s teachings into our daily lives.
Kadam Morten Clausen, the Resident Teacher of KMC New York City, will give the introduction to the Festival. For over 25 years he has been a close disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Through his gentle and joyful approach, and his peaceful example, he has helped many people find true happiness in their hearts.
Gen Kelsang Chogden, the Resident Teacher of KMC Maryland, will guide the meditations at the Festival. She has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism for many years and brings true sincerity and humility to her life as a spiritual teacher. Gen Chogden is an inspiration to those around her because of her deep faith, clear wisdom, and heartfelt concern for others.
