US World Peace Temple 2018 US Festival

US World Peace Temple

The Festival will be held at Kadampa Meditation Center New York (KMC NY), the national temple for the New Kadampa Tradition in the United States and one of only four traditional Kadampa temples in the world.

Located just two hours outside of New York City, amid 82 acres of lush woodland in the colorful Upper Delaware River Valley, KMC NY is an ideal setting for the US Festival. In addition to the spiritual program, Festival-goers will have plenty of time to enjoy being with spiritual friends, hikes on one of many nature trails, and space to be still and introspective. Lunch and dinner are offered by the Festival. Delicious desserts, snacks, coffee, tea and cold drinks are offered in the World Peace Café located within the World Peace Temple. Light fare and meals also available at the Nectar Café located in the Main House.

About the US World Peace Temple

The teachings at the Festival will be held in the US World Peace Temple which arose from the vision and compassionate intention of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso as part of the International Temples Project.

The Temple was designed and built under his guidance to represent the celestial palace of Heruka, Buddha of Compassion. The holy architecture, Buddha statues, and unique artwork have deep spiritual meaning and endow the structure with a tranquil beauty that uplifts us and inspires us. One of four traditional Kadampa Temples in the world, it was constructed largely by volunteers over a five year period.

The US World Peace Temple is experienced by all as a holy object that inspires us to attain inner and outer peace. Just by seeing the Temple and the statues within it, we receive special blessings upon our mind that will give rise to good fortune and inner peace in the future.

The Temple is open daily for visitors. Everyone is welcome to visit and enjoy. Click here for more information about the Temple’s open hours and programs.
