Art of Enlightenment at KMC NY
A Hands-on Art Workshop with Kadam Chris Heyes

This post-Festival thangkha painting and drawing workshop will be led by our special guest, master NKT artist Kadam Chris Heyes, the Resident Teacher at Amoghasiddhi Buddhist Centre, Attleborough, UK.

It is aimed at both beginners who wish to learn to enjoy the sacred art of thangkha painting and those who wish to advance their skills. Everyone is welcome - the only art ability necessary is enthusiasm!

During the 2 1/2 day intensive workshop, Chris will demonstrate and teach how to first draw and then proceed to paint an authentic image of Buddha's face.

Note registration for this KMC NY workshop is limited to 35 people.

 

Participants will need to bring the following materials, which can be obtained at any art store:

pencils (HB, 2H)
small pencil sharpener
ruler
blue kneaded erasers
8 1/2 x 11 tracing paper pad
a small drawing board
masking tape
gouache paints: white, black, prussian blue, red and yellow (minimum)
assorted small paint brushes
(waterbowls, rags, etc will be provided)
